With a Little Help from our Friends...

Middle School Sports thrives on Community Support

So yesterday I needed help and help you guys did! A little over an hour after I posted a message on Facebook the laundry detergent began showing up outside my door. At first, it was just a bottle and then three and then six. Now, now we have more than enough to last us the rest of the season and then maybe some.

Then there are the doughnuts. I was hoping to get enough to make sure every player had a doughnut. What you guys did was enough to give them no less than two apiece. This may sound silly but for middle school kids it's not. Honesty, its big no matter what age you are. Everyone loves to show up and find free candy or a biscuit... it truly is the thought that counts sometimes. Giving these guys doughnuts for a specific job well done makes them feel like they have been seen, been recognized, and even rewarded for their work. This is important in life. You guys make sure that happens and that is priceless as a coach.

I am not going to say that our football team has the 'best' parents because it isn't a competition and Pepperell kids are, well, all of our kids. However, I will say that I couldn't ask for better parents and your support doesn't go unnoticed by everyone around us. Your support actually seems to inspire hope and encouragement that big things that need big support are possible. I know that it inspires me to dream a little bit bigger because I know you guys are part of the team!
